Are you a workplace stander or sitter? If you aren’t quite sold on the standing desk idea, Trea chair, manufactured by Humanscale and designed by Todd Bracher may just be for you.
Industry ergonomic leaders Humanscale are exhibiting their award wining Trea chair at SaloneUfficio, the International Workspace Exhibition within the Milan Furniture Fair 2015 – the largest workspace trade show of its kind.
Recently awarded a prestigious Red Dot for Top Design Quality and Ground-Breaking Design, their Trea range by Bracher (who has previously designed for Georg Jensen, Fritz Hansen Tom Dixon, and 3M), consists of ultra innovative functions such as a solid state recline mechanism that automatically maintains control for the sitter without the need for adjusting. The chair also provides up to 12 degrees of recline for a balanced posture in any position.
Humanscale’s playful Ballo, inspired by exercise balls, and QuickStand seating options also earned notable mentions at the Red Dot Awards and will be launched alongside Trea at Milan this year.
As mentioned in our ‘Milan at a glance’ story, the layout of a workplace and the design of its chosen furniture is set to be a key theme that will merge from this year’s Milan Fair. It’s comforting to know companies like Humanscale are thinking ahead of the curve and leading the way with intelligent technology when it comes to the workplace.
