SJB promotes Gabrielle Suhr to Studio Associate

Architect Gabrielle Suhr has been promoted to studio associate in the firm’s Sydney team.

For the past 14 years, Suhr has delivered some of SJB’s most recognisable mixed-use and boutique multi-residential projects, including Walter Burley Griffin Incinerator, 249 Darlinghurst Road and Waterfall.

In a joint statement, SJB Sydney directors say Suhr’s contribution is not only rooted in built work, but also the “culture of the practice.

“We are continually impressed with Gabby’s capacity to navigate project priorities – to ensure excellence across architectural, public and development objectives.

“In addition to her professional successes, we love Gabby as a person and wish her all the success in the world as she takes on additional leadership responsibilities,” they add.

“Her energy, commitment, and attention to detail make working with her a delight.”

A graduate of RMIT University’s Bachelor of Architecture course in 2001, Suhr has focused on creating close relationships between client and architect, which is fostered by maintaining the highest level of communication to achieve rewarding architectural outcomes.

SJB says her belief in the value of community “encourages her to always strive for bright and joyful elements and a level of delight in the built environment.”

2022 is already shaping up to be an exciting year for SJB with a wave of commercial, residential, civic and health projects being delivered by the collective studios.

In September last year, SJB completed a Sydney office with a “spinach green” facade that brought a “sense of play” to a changing neighbourhood.
