Representing a new breed of inner city developments, Paramount House has emerged as one of Sydney’s most authentic and highly adaptable mix-use projects.
The project celebrates the traditions of the school and civic library through a series of key ideas, or ‘chapters’, that have been translated into architectural interventions.
The project involved creation of a new studio and gallery space with flexibility to house different workplace arrangements from permanent subtenant to a series of hot desks for short stay freelancers.
Much of the new floor plan is designated to furniture and object brought in on consignment from the general public while the stallholder ‘shops’ occupy the rest of the floor.
