The winners of the Victorian Chapter of the AIA Awards have been announced, with ARM Architecture taking out four awards - including a sixth Victorian Medal - for the Geelong Library & Heritage Centre. "It has elevated the role of public architecture for both Geelong and the wider regional community," Hamish Lyon, Chair of Juries said.
The $45.5 million dollar project is the largest ever undertaken by Geelong City Council, and announces ARM’s particular brand of distinctive, unconventional architecture to the regional centre.
“The Opera House is truly the people’s house and we will be seeking to involve the people more and more as we plan for the next decade,” says Louise Herron, Sydney Opera House chief executive. Melbourne-based architecture firm ARM will redesign the iconic building’s largest performance venue.
With the Interior Design Excellence Awards presentation and Gala party this Friday 21 November, ADR presents a complete shortlist of nominated entries.
