With teams across the globe collaborating in the virtual realm as much as in the flesh, the shared office has evolved to become slicker as it cements itself in mainstream consciousness.
Internationally renowned British designer, Tom Dixon, has recently designed Interchange (interchange.io), a purpose-built co-working space in Camden, London ā€“ three shiny glass and metal buildings and over 7803 square metres (84,000 square feet) of co-working and office space to rent.
Designed by by Amber Road, the Cronulla Residence's beauty lies in its absence of complication. As unpretentious and simple as possible, the design tenet of wabi-sabi, which champions the simple, slow and uncluttered, is realised in this home.
In the four-metre wide space that was once the opening of a bleak alleyway, now stands a quaint and inviting cabin-like structure. A peaked roof reaches up, and while it is nowhere as high as the buildings that press against either side of it, this little venue is far from shadowed by its surrounds.
