Perched is an extension at the rear of a semi-detached, Edwardian house, a project by Wesley Spencer and Mathilde Polmard. The home sticks to the essentials, embraces light and puts emphasis on a kitchen suitable for a chef.
"I think everyone we were bidding against wanted to knock it down. Although that might have been more sensible, I fall in love too easily." Robbie Walker discusses the Glass Link House, which once had a fake tile roof, nasty aluminium windows and a dodgy add-on, but is now a delightful family home.
At Six, a brutalist high-rise structure, was originally designed in the 1970s by Swedish architects Boijsen and Efervgren. Last month, London-based architecture practice Universal Design Studio reinterpreted the building into a new 343 room hotel which houses one of Europeā€™s most ambitious contemporary art collections within such an establishment.
Ian Barker Gardens has designed a delightful rooftop garden for automotive software company Pentana Solutions, complete with a giant chess set, a feature car and a sea of plants which provide warm colours and interesting textures throughout the seasons.
