Billard Leece Partnership appointed as lead architect for the new Bundaberg hospital

In a collaboration with Cox Architecture and CPB Contractors, Billard Leece Partnership (BLP) was appointed as the lead architectural designer for the new Bundaberg hospital.

The Bundaberg hospital is set to be a state-of-the-art, six-storey healthcare edifice, ushering in a new era of modern medical services. The hospital’s diverse range of offerings such as acute, medical, surgical, and mental health care, alongside emergency and clinical support services, will be enhanced by crucial infrastructure.

The project aligns with the Queensland Government’s $9.78 billion Queensland Health and Hospitals Plan, an initiative aimed at bolstering the state’s healthcare capacities through the Capacity Expansion Program.

“It is a privilege to contribute to the delivery of the new Bundaberg hospital, a project that will significantly enhance the Queensland region’s health infrastructure,” said newly appointed BLP managing director Tara Veldman.

This undertaking also marks a new chapter in the successful collaboration between BLP and CIMIC Group’s CPB Contractors. Following their partnership on the Campbelltown Hospital Redevelopment in New South Wales, the synergy between the two entities continues to flourish.

“Our history of fruitful collaboration with CPB Contractors paves the way for yet another transformative project,” says Veldman.

“Our shared vision revolves around creating a cutting-edge, contemporary and future ready health facility that caters comprehensively to the Bundaberg community and the broader Wide Bay-Burnett region,” concluded Veldman.

The completion of the design phase for the new Bundaberg hospital is set for early 2024.
